Trail is NOT OPEN north between Rt. 80 and the height of land. Northbound trail users follow Rt. 80 2.0 mi. to Sheds & Dugway Rd. 2.0 mi. E to reach the trailhead.

Parking* and trailhead are located 2 mi. E of Sheds on Dugway Rd. Trail goes N then W. When reaching a dirt road at a 90º curve, turn N (right). Trail follows an old wagon track, crossing Damon Rd. Watch for a turn (right) off the old road into the woods. Trail reaches Irish Hill Rd. Follow it N 1 mi. to Hardscrabble Rd. Turn right 0.1 mi. Trail leaves road N into Nelson Swamp Unique Area and goes W to Constine Bridge Rd. Follow road N to Charles Rd. Take this road about 300 ft. to the trail (on right) through Stone Quarry Hill Art Park. Camping is available here for through-hikers by pre-arrangement. Follow blue blazes through park to trailhead parking area on Chenango St. at the south edge of the Village of Cazenovia. Total dist.: 10.4 mi. (Dugway Rd. - Cazenovia).Note: A beautiful trail section exists from Dugway Rd. southeast, then southwest, to the height of land, crossing a pretty ravine on a new bridge. Part of this section is on private land—please stay on the trail. Timber harvest is underway on the hilltop, so stopping at the bridge (1.6 mi.) is recommended (spring 2003). Retrace your steps to Dugway Road. There is currently no connection to Rt. 80. This trail section will be completed in the future.
